Hawarden Pumpstation Project
EDR was engaged to deliver the Hawarden Pumpstation upgrade, replacing and installing all essential valves, pipework, risers, bends, chambers and associated components. The works included confined space operations and the provision of inspection chambers and lids, ensuring full operational functionality for the facility.
Scope of works
The project involved a wide range of civil and mechanical tasks, including:
-
Preliminary & General - Establish site, implement traffic management, locate services, provide confined space safety, and maintain equipment and materials on site
-
Valve Chamber Works - Supply and install valve chambers, including manholes, lids, drainage, reflux and sluice valves, flanged gibbaults, reducers, and associated fittings
-
Wet Well Works - Remove and dispose of existing risers, bends and non-return valves, then install new pipe spools, bends and risers with re-setting of pedestals as required
-
Water Supply / Pipework - Install DN100, DN125 and DN150 pipe spools, spares, tees and associated connections to ensure full operational functionality
-
Inspection Chambers & Other Works - Supply and install inspection chambers with lids around flow meters and other key components for access and maintenance
-
Testing & Commissioning - Conduct pressure testing, flushing, sterilisation and verification of all installed components to ensure safe and functional operation
Project Outcome
Through careful planning, strict safety management and precise installation, EDR delivered a fully functional pumpstation upgrade. The project enhanced operational reliability, provided safe access for ongoing maintenance and ensured compliance with all relevant standards.
