Torlesse Estate Subdivision Development Project
EDR was engaged to deliver the Torlesse Estate subdivision, providing complete civil construction and infrastructure works. The project included earthworks, road and footpath construction, water, wastewater and stormwater installation, utilities provision, and full site reinstatement. Upon completion, the subdivision offered fully functional services, safe roadways, and landscaped public spaces ready for occupancy.
Scope of works
The project involved a wide range of civil and infrastructure tasks, including:

Preliminary & General - Establish site, implement traffic management, locate and protect services, manage health and safety, maintain quality assurance and maintain equipment and materials throughout the contract

Erosion & Sediment Control - Construct, maintain and remove stabilised construction access, diversion channels, silt fencing and temporary soakhole systems

Site Clearance & Earthworks - Clear and prepare site, strip and trim subgrades, remove unsuitable materials and compact for roads, footpaths and berms

Road & Footpath Construction - Construct roads and footpaths including kerbs, channels, basecourse, asphalt, tactile indicators and landscaping of berms

Wastewater - Supply, install and connect mains and lateral pipes, precast manholes with vented lids and carry out pressure testing and CCTV inspection

Stormwater - Install mains, sumps, inspection points, soakage pits, and associated pipework, including hydrostatic testing and CCTV reporting

High Pressure Water - Install water mains, submains, fire hydrants, valves, lot connections, and carry out chlorination, E.coli and pressure testing

Trenching & Utilities - Excavate, backfill, and compact trenches for water, power, and communications including ducts and road crossings

Testing & Commissioning - Complete QA documentation and carry out pressure, chlorination, density and compliance testing for all installed infrastructure
Project Outcome
EDR has delivered a high-quality, fully serviced first stage of the subdivision, meeting all design and safety requirements. Through precise project management, coordinated construction and quality assurance, the Torlesse Estate continues to progress stage by stage and will develop over the coming years into a premium Kiwi living destination.
